ABOUT ME

Hey, I’m Eneah S. Fite, a philosopher in the most literal sense of the word. I love wisdom, learning, and the pursuit of information so naturally I was a student who loved school. On forecasted snow days, I would wear my pajamas correctly because how dare I allow the weather interfere with my ability to learn.

Although teaching was not my original career path, I am so glad it found me. I love it. I love cultivating engaging, relevant, and meaningful opportunities for my students to connect with the curriculum. I love helping my students develop and increase confidence in their abilities. I love watching my students learn joyfully. I love teaching.

Yes, I know I’m only entering my second year, so some may say I’m too green to be this sure of my alignment in education - but I’m sure. Not only, am I sure, I am committed to cultivating a mentally, emotionally, and physically sustainable career grounded in holistic wellness. In other words, I’m anti-burnout and I invite you along on my journey.

BACKGROUND

I am new to teaching, but not new to wellness-based education. Since my sophomore year of college, I have been researching, developing, and sharing resources for achieving holistic wellness in education. I began when I recognized that while I ran to academia for solace from life problems my peers ran away from it. So many of my peers who were regularly bright, capable, and passionate students would neglect their academics when life got hard. They were not doing well in school because they were not well.

This realization led me to establish 7Sees Holding, and subsequent entities like Simplē, to help others achieve sustainable holistic wellness. Holistic wellness, or what I’ve called peace, is the result of intentional personal development and systemic revision. In short- if we improve as people we can improve the systems and places we enter. I believe doing such will allow us to be, do, and stay well in school or wherever we may find ourselves.

My research has been shared at high schools, colleges, conferences, and events across the country. Some of these engagements include: Teachers College at Columbia University, Black SEL, State of Black Learning, and more.
